Self Help:Success For The Average Man/Woman Wisdom of the Ages
(by Ragnar Storyteller)
Wisdom of the Ages
If you started to follow Benjamin Franklin's program of taking one personality trait at a time there will be no limit to what you can accomplish in your life.
To insure success in any field you endeavor in, you will need goal-setting and will power. Plus you will need patience to lick the monotony and drudgery that success demands.
Repetition is Heaven's fist Law and it is the best teacher. Never neglect the power of repetition. Repeating and re-reading will be your secret weapons for reaching your goals. Most failures in any project, be it painting a picture or creating a fortune is due to lack of patience and persistence.
Take the following golden messages of the Ages and make them your own. Absorb them, internalize them, and make them habits.
Purdue University made tests to show that material read only once is remembered on 2% two weeks later. Read more than once 6% is remembered. We think faster than we read so we have to go back and read the page again. Do it and you will see something the second time that you did not see the first time. If you start to read these wise tips every day, they can build up your confidence, tranquility, and assurance, so that such things as stress and worry can never touch you.
I have written my wise sayings on 3 X 5 cards. Over the years, I have collected over 600 of them.
At night before bed, I sit in my favorite chair, relax and breathe deeply. Then I reach for a stack of my cards and look at them one at a time and say them aloud. Then I put the one I just said on the bottom of the stack.
I don't pollute my mind with TV, a cheap novel or the news before bed. This is a sacred time. It is these thoughts and emotions that will by the Law of Attraction, determine where you will travel in your sleep. The higher or lower dream state you will go to.
I also take part of my cards with me when I drive. I again don't listen to the radio unless it is a station with uplifting music. Again, I take a quick look at my cards, say it out loud, and put it on the bottom of the pile. Don't waste your time. Use it all productively. These cards work.
Samuel Johnson wrote: "He is the most useful teacher who condenses the most knowledge into short sentences that are easily remembered and applied. "
Sidney Smith said: "The writer helps us the most who gives us the most knowledge and takes from us the least time."
Will Durant said, "For every book I write, I read 500 books for gathering material for that one book."
Here are some inspiring timely tips for you to start with. Copy them on 3 X 5 cards and add many more yourself.
Man alone of all God's creatures, can change himself for the better.
We change ourselves by changing our thoughts.
The easiest and quickest way to change yourself is to set a lofty goal and work for it.
Look to this day; for it is Life, the very Life of Life!
Now is the best time to start anything.
Cut out all non-essentials. Cut all puttering and dawdling.
I will improve something today.
Your environment largely shapes your future. Take the time to select one that will shape the life you like to have.
Be tolerant. Everybody is fighting a tough battle, just like you.
Short as life is, we make it shorter by wasting time.
In wisdom and judgment men over 50 outshine men under 30.
Blessed is he who has found his right work; let him ask no further blessings.
The ultimate ambition is be happy at home.
Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events and happenings, and small minds discuss people and things.
Courage is not the absence of fear; it is the conquest of fear.
He who angers you conquers you.
It is nobler to try something and fail, than to try nothing and succeed.
Half of the world's work is done by people who don't feel good.
To live to be 100, have something to live for, living is for something is part of living longer.
We must have long range goals to keep us from being discouraged by short range set backs.
A light purse makes a happy heart. A small house or car is less annoying than a large debt.
As the gardener prunes the tree to draw the sap into one of the two branches, so must we concentrate on one or two to avoid scattering our talents.
Just once in your life sit down to think and decide what one thing you want most out of life. What do you want to be, to do, or have.

Self Help:Success through awareness.
(by Leo Ramos)
Success is a very hot topic in our society today. Each person has their own definition of the word, so I will not define it for you. However, I will state two things. First, remind you that YOU are the one that gets to decide what success means. Second, is what I've chosen to take into account for defining success.

For me success is determined by the following four factors, not in any specific order. (a) Getting the results that I am looking to achieve (b) using a process that is balanced and works for me (c) while nurturing relationships in the process (d) and knowing that what I am creating is of service to myself and others. Yes, it must be a win-win for everyone involved for me to consider it a success.

In either case, in order to create success there is a very specific process. If you are not getting the results you want, you must first become clear and aware of what you want to change, make different, or make better whether in life or in your business.  Without becoming aware about what you want to change, it is nearly impossible to make any kind of change permanent or even long-term.

So the key first step is becoming clear about what you want and aware of what needs to change. This way you can actually begin to take steps to make that change. Once you've become aware and clear of what you want, then you can begin the journey of making the changes and creating your success.

Though it is possible to gain this awareness on your own it is not the easiest. Notice that every great figure has always had someone there to support them in their journey to success. This is true in sports, religion, politics, and every other area of life. Often they are supported by mentors, coaches, and others who are able to see what the individual is not able to see. Think of Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, any President, they all have a team of people supporting them in creating their success.

So, what steps can you take to support your success? Get a coach or a mentor to support you. Be willing to be honest with yourself and see those things that are not supporting you. Have the courage and commitment to make a change. Nurture your relationships in the process. Keep looking for the process that will work with and for you. Be of service, focus on supporting the success of others & you will nurture your success in the process. Keep connecting to resources that will help you gain knowledge and apply that knowledge.
Take any or all of these steps and begin take your current success to the next level.

Self Help:Success For The Average Man/Woman Goal Setting
(by Ragnar Storyteller)
Goal Setting
Goal Setting is the greatest, most valuable and most useful of all success techniques. There are thousands of good books and internet articles about goal setting, but few about how it works.
The Age of Aquarius has given us the Laws of Quantum Physics. These Laws tell us that there is an infinite ocean of thinking, intelligent energy where everything exists. It is called the Quantum Ocean or Mind of God. It is responsive to your thoughts. What you think about continuously you will receive.
Your goals are written down thoughts. By looking and thinking about then daily, you will pull out of the Quantum Ocean, Mind of God, what you have written down. Decide what you want to succeed at, large or small, write it down, and read every night and every morning. They will happen, it is the law.
This technique applies to any goal, large, small, short range, long range, personal, job, hobby or career. Start with selecting small goals that you are sure you can reach with a little time and effort.
If the Laws of Quantum Physics are true and thoughts are things why don't the majority of people write their thoughts of what they want down on paper?
Napoleon answers that for us. He said, "The most difficult of all tasks, and hence the most rewarding, is the power to decide. It only takes a little power to decide. It takes little power to decide on big things. And deciding on a Goal is a big thing. It affects all our lives."
Thinking is hard work. Edison said, "Most people will go to any length to avoid the labour of thinking." Whatever you want large of small, material, mental, emotional or spiritual write it down. Plant a seed of attraction in the Quantum Ocean, The Mind of God. Think about it daily and you will get it.
Goethe wrote, "First build a proper goal, that proper goal will make it easy, almost automatic to build a proper you."
Right now we are all using such a small part of our mind. Think, set goals. Expand your mind. Make pencil (pen) and paper (3 X 5 cards) your best and constant friends.
Writing will force you to think. It has ten times the power of talking. Only by writing down your goal on paper can you harness the power of the Quantum Ocean, the Mind of God, to go to work for you.
Many people hesitate because they don't realize how nature works. The Laws of Quantum Physics now tell us how it works. Thoughts are things which create your life. Write down what you want. Your problems and desires are more than half solved once you get your message across to the Quantum Ocean, Mind of God.
Writing down goals, plant seeds. It makes it definite and permanent. Write it down and watch. Miracles seem to happen. Outside forces, people, places and events will come to your aide.
We need more to be reminded, than to be informed. Remind yourself daily of what you want.
You don't have to be brilliant to succeed. You only need to know how things work, and to develop a positive mental attitude and you will get what you think you will get.

Self Help:Are You A Victim in Life?
(by Adam Khoo)
'If only I had more time.'
'If only my husband could be more understanding.'
'If only my boss would die!'
'If only my son could be more motivated.'
'If only I could get better customers',
These are the common litany of excuses one would hear.

People who believe themselves to be victims say that the only way for their lives to change for the better is when other people get better, or if the business-social environment improves.
As long as you keep thinking that it is not your fault, that something else must change, you will continue to feel helpless and powerless. By continuing to play the victim, you will be totally at the mercy of your environment
Why do so many people Choose to be a Victim?
Time to time, we find ourselves unconsciously lapsing into victim mode till it leads to being an undesirable part of makeup Do you have friends and acquaintances who complain non-stop about their employers, colleagues, spouse, society at large, or the government?
How about you?
Without any intention of being cold and heartless, the fact stays; as long as people convince themselves to be the victims of circumstance, they will never be able to take charge, learn from their experiences, move on and change their lives for the better.
Why do we do this? The simple reason being it makes us feel good! By playing the victim, we get lots of sympathy, don't we? At the same time, we want to feel assured that we were in the right by justifying our own actions.
Soon, complaining becomes therapeutic. After all the complaining, we actually feel relieved of an emotional burden.
Beneficial as it may seem, though playing the victim appears to have lots of payoffs, the cost of doing so is high for as long as we blame something or someone else, we rob ourselves of the power to take charge, and change the situation.
Giving Excuses and Blaming Others Takes Power Away from You
The reality is that most people act in a way that puts others in charge of their life.
When something doesn't work in their life, they choose to give excuses, blame others and complain. The problem with this is that by doing so, you are putting others in control of your life. You put yourself in the role of victim.
This is the reason causing most people feel totally helpless, with no control over what is happening to them. Most of the time the outside world will not change, not until we change first!

Self Help:Success For The Average Man/Woman Making Lists
(by Ragnar Storyteller)
List Making
Learn to be a list maker, it sharpens your mind. List making develops observation, concentration, judgement, will power, memory, initiative, imagination and intelligence.
It will help you develop a new and wider vision of life. Learn how to make many lists. They will be your mind awakener, mind sharpener, and mind builder. Sometimes little things on your list wake up a spark of ambition in you and can revolutionize your whole life.
If you are having a problem with another person make a written list before you speak to them. This way the conversation will stay on track, the problem will not drift.
Success in anything first depends upon success over you. Get control of your mind and your emotions. Your mind controls your emotions, your written word controls your mind.
You should be able to start several lists of your most frequent tasks, business, and personal or for success. They will continuously remind you of what you have to do. They sharpen your mind and increase your efficiency for your own personal use.
At work or in your own business, make this list and ask yourself every morning:
"How can I improve some part of my job or business?"
"Does it have to be done this way?"
"How can I reduce costs and increase profits?"
"How can I save time?"
Remind yourself with your list. Make the list tailor made just for you. Make a list for every regular activity that engages your time. Watch the efficiency grow with each list you make. You will save time and with this saved time, work on your art, painting, writing etc. The most precious thing we all have is our unexpired years. Stop wasting time! It is limited!
Before making phone calls, make a list of the points you want to discuss to avoid forgetting. Before you write a letter do the same. Making lists is a good exercise in thinking. Every time you think you wake up new brain cells. You have enough brain cells to think up 100 new ideas every day for the next 50 years.
Think up a way to use a list to help people think your way. In the field of sales this is invaluable. Put on your list ideas that will help you win over hard to persuade people.
"You'll never achieve more than the crowd, until you think MORE than the crowd."
Go to the library and look up wise sayings. They never get outdated, they are ageless. You will find them under various headings, proverbs, epigrams, adages, slogans, mottoes, maxims, etc.
Here are a few, make a list of over 100 of your own.
Winston Churchill , "Every man like myself, who never went to college, can largely make up for that lack by reading the wise sayings of the great men of the past."
Emerson, "Proverbs, introduce us to ourselves, to that bigger, grander man we never knew."
Elber Hubbard, "Learning from the wise sayings of great men, is like riding to success on the shoulders of giants."
